Apple Watch
On Apple Watch, Fregata Mobile does three things: it tells you what happened, shows you what’s happening now, and hands everything else to your iPhone. It needs watchOS 26.
Nothing to set up
Section titled “Nothing to set up”The watch app comes with the iPhone app, and takes your servers and sign-in from your iPhone. Open it once on the iPhone, then on the watch; there’s nothing to type on your wrist. If the watch says Open Fregata Mobile on your iPhone, do just that, with the watch nearby.
Once it has them, the watch reaches your server by itself, over Wi-Fi, its own cellular connection, or through your iPhone. Away from home it needs the same Away address your iPhone uses.
The first screen
Section titled “The first screen”- Alerts: the last day’s alerts, with how many you haven’t reviewed and how recent the newest is.
- Detections: the last day’s detections.
- Your cameras, each with a recent picture. Tap one to see it full screen.
A camera, full screen
Section titled “A camera, full screen”Full screen, the picture updates several times a second for a minute, marked Live, then pauses to save the battery: Tap to resume. It stops whenever you lower your wrist. There’s no sound.
- Turn the Digital Crown to zoom in, up to where the detail is.
- Swipe left or right for the next camera.
- If the picture can’t be fetched, it says why, such as Can’t reach server, and how old the picture is: Last seen 2 min ago.
Alerts and detections
Section titled “Alerts and detections”Tap Alerts or Detections for the last 24 hours, newest first, each with Frigate’s picture, what and where, and how long ago. A dot marks one you haven’t reviewed.
- Turn the Digital Crown to scrub through the alert’s clip.
- Live opens that camera full screen.
- Newer and Older step through the list.
- The filter at the corner of the list, Show only unreviewed, hides what you’ve seen.
- Mark All Reviewed, under the list, clears the rest at once, on your server, as Review does on the iPhone.
Alerts on your wrist
Section titled “Alerts on your wrist”Alerts reach your watch the way your iPhone’s notifications do: when the iPhone is locked and the watch is on your wrist. Raise your wrist to see the picture, what it was and when. Live opens the camera full screen; tapping the alert opens it in the app.
What reaches the watch follows your iPhone’s filters and snoozes, so there’s nothing to set up on the watch for that either.
Complications
Section titled “Complications”The Alerts complication shows how many alerts are waiting to be reviewed, and when the last one was: 3 to review, Last 4:36 PM. Add it like any complication: touch and hold the watch face, tap Edit, then choose Fregata Mobile. Tap it to open the alerts.
When a Live Activity is running on your iPhone, it shows in the watch’s Smart Stack too. See Live Activities.
When something’s wrong
Section titled “When something’s wrong”- Your iPhone isn’t in reach right now: the watch needs the iPhone nearby once, to take your servers from it.
- Check the password on your iPhone, Sign-in refused: the sign-in changed. Fix it in the iPhone app’s Settings › Connection, and the watch follows.
- Certificate changed, Confirm it on your iPhone: the server’s certificate changed; decide on the iPhone. See Certificate questions.
- Too many sign-ins, Wait a minute: the server is limiting sign-ins for a moment.
To send a report of what the watch did, see Getting help.
