Turn a camera's alerts off for everyone
Settings › Server-Wide Notifications is Frigate’s own notification switch for each camera, the same one as in Frigate’s web interface. Turning a camera off here stops its alerts for everyone who uses the server, on every device. Everyone on your server Needs an administrator
Usually that’s not what you want. To stop a camera alerting just you, use a notification filter or a snooze, which change this iPhone only. This screen is for when a camera shouldn’t alert anyone: it’s pointing at a building site, or it’s being moved.
Recording and detection carry on either way. Only the notification is skipped.
- Changes here apply to every account, with a shortcut to the per-iPhone alternative, Quiet a camera on this iPhone only.
- Each camera’s switch, and under it Pause for Everyone…, or how long a pause has left and Resume.
Off or paused
Section titled “Off or paused”| Off | Paused | |
|---|---|---|
| How long | Until an administrator turns it back on | 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour or four hours |
| A server restart | Stays off: it’s saved to the server | Ends the pause early |
| Recording and detection | Carry on | Carry on |
Either way, only the notification is skipped: the camera keeps recording, and its events are still in Review and Explore.
Turn one off
Section titled “Turn one off”- Open Settings › Server-Wide Notifications.
- Turn off the camera’s switch, or tap Pause for Everyone… under it and choose how long.
- Read the question, and choose Turn Off for Everyone or Pause for Everyone.
The question also offers the per-iPhone version: Only on This iPhone turns the camera off in your filter in force instead, and Snooze on This iPhone Only snoozes it. If that’s all you meant, choose it.
When a camera is off or paused for everyone, its Alerts panel in the live view says so, for every account, and points here.
With a viewer account
Section titled “With a viewer account”A viewer sees each camera’s state, On, Off or Paused until…, but can’t change it. Ask whoever manages the server, or quiet the camera on your own iPhone with a filter.
If a change doesn’t stick
Section titled “If a change doesn’t stick”Frigate gives no answer when it declines a change, so the app checks for itself. If a camera didn’t confirm the change, check the server can be reached and try again. A pause also ends the moment Frigate restarts.
