# Explore and search

> Find any tracked object in Fregata Mobile's Explore tab — filter by camera, object and date, search in plain words with Frigate's semantic search, find similar events, read an event's details and descriptions, and submit to Frigate+.

**Explore** lists every object Frigate tracked, one row each: a person who walked up the path, a
car that pulled in, a dog in the garden. Where [Review](https://mobile.fregata.app/docs/cameras/review/) groups what
happened on a camera into stretches of time, Explore is for finding one particular thing.

1. **Filters**: cameras, kinds of object, and a date or hours.
2. **What the list shows**: after a search, the words it matched. **Clear** goes back to every event.
3. **An event**: its picture and how long it lasted, what it was, the camera, when, how sure Frigate was, and the zones it entered. Tap it for the details.
4. **Search**: describe what you're looking for in your own words. Only there when your server has Frigate's semantic search turned on.

## Filter

- **All cameras** chooses one or more cameras, or a camera group.
- **All objects** chooses one or more kinds: people, cars, dogs, whatever your cameras track.
- The **calendar** chooses a day, or hours of it, like the one in Review. Here an event counts
  by when it started.

**Reset filters** clears all three.

## Search in your own words

When Frigate's **semantic search** is on, a search field sits at the bottom of the list, above
the tabs. Type what you're looking for, such as _person in a red jacket_ or _white van_, and the
list shows the best matches, most relevant first, under a banner saying what they match.
**Clear** goes back to the whole list. Frigate does the searching, on your server, from the
pictures and the descriptions it has. A row marked **matched description** was found by what
its description says rather than by its picture.

**Find Similar**, on an event's details, does the same from a picture: it lists the events that
look most like that one.

If your server doesn't have semantic search turned on, the search field and **Find Similar**
don't appear. Frigate's documentation explains how to turn it on, and what it needs.

## An event's details

_Picture: A Front Porch event: the snapshot of a person on the path, Person at 94 percent, View Clip and Find Similar, Share Clip and Share Snapshot, the Frigate+ question Was this a person? with Yes and No, then Started, Duration, Zones and the server's GenAI description._

- **The picture** is the snapshot Frigate kept, or its thumbnail if there's no snapshot.
- **View Clip** opens the recording of the event. **Share Clip** and **Share Snapshot** export
it: save it to Photos or send it.
- **Started**, **Ended** or **Still in progress**, **Duration**, the **Zones** it entered, and
where your server records them, **Attributes**, a **License plate**, who it was
**Recognised as**, and an **Estimated speed**.
- **Server GenAI Description**: what your server's GenAI wrote about it, when it's set up to.
**Not generated yet** means it hasn't got to this one.
- **Apple Intelligence Description**: a description written on this iPhone. (Needs iOS 27)
  See [AI descriptions](https://mobile.fregata.app/docs/alerts/ai-descriptions/).

## Frigate+

If your server uses **Frigate+**, an event shows **Submit to Frigate+** with the question **Was
this a person?** (or whatever it detected).

- **Yes** sends the snapshot to Frigate+ as a correct detection.
- **No** sends it as a false positive, to train the model not to make that mistake.

Either one sends the picture to Frigate+ straight away, a service outside your server, so
answer only when you mean to. Once sent, the event says so.
